Food & Lifestyle imagery

I have a strong career as a food photographer and more recently also videographer. I shoot for all forms of advertising, packaging, magazines and books. Having spent the majority of my career in Auckland firstly as Viva photographer for the NZ Herald, then moving to food and lifestyle, I’m now an accomplished image creator and stylist. I love crafting striking imagery with leading publications, acclaimed chefs and recognised brands (I’m also passionate about looking after smaller businesses with my desire to help others). No matter which part of the country, I take care of clients with enthusiasm, food fussiness and care.

Styling

With an eye for detail and keeping current, I’m flexible to help chefs put the finishing touches to food or I happily style food onset. Prop styling for both lifestyle and food imagery I love blending trend with personal style to create unique looks for brands.

Social media

Looking after clients social media accounts is a newer and natural progression of what I offer. Producing video and photos per month, alongside topical news and competitions, my fun, energetic personality draws people in with my sometimes humorous, other times factual posts. I have a strategic approach to quality posts that engage and connect people to my clients.

Commercial photographer, videographer and drone operator

I see myself as a visual story teller, always have, from as far back as my press career to today’s photos and videos for corporates, designers, suppliers and producers.

My stills, motion and drone imagery has appeared in advertising, magazines, books, online, annual reports and billboards. Having a genuine empathy with my subject, understanding client’s needs and their brand is important to me. Producing unique work that is modern and fresh keeps my clients happy and coming back for more.

Corporate

I love bringing a potential stuffy annual report to life with creative ideas and engaging imagery. Tramping over farmland at dawn to a heritage site or in a glass tower for portraits where I encourage you to relax even though being in front of the camera is quite terrifying for you, I have an affinity with my subject and strive for the best outcome every time.

Design, Architecture and Industrial

Whether it’s natural light or our portable studio kit it’s about understanding the emotional response I can create with form, shape and texture that brings design to life. I’m always seeking the essence of how best to tell a story so that it connects with people. The depth of my sensitivity towards subject and space is what drives me to produce powerful imagery.
